These nurses all require one thing. They need to be qualified

To become a qualified nurse you have to start at the bottom of the rung of the ladder and work up to the top. It is very rank and file, starting with being a nurse aid emptying bed pans and making up beds to a nurse of higher rank who is permitted to give injections, change dressings and give more qualified care. The beauty of nursing is that whatever rank you wish to remain at, you may do so. The higher qualified you become is entirely up to you.

Geriatrics is quite a demanding job for any nurse and requires great patience and dollops of kindness. Only if the nurse has these qualities can she possibly be considered suitable for a job in geriatrics.

Becoming a qualified nurse takes a few years. Working in a training hospital brings many benefits with it. Camaraderie with nursing colleagues, hospital staff accommodation and sometimes free medical care are some of the benefits of this laborious but very rewarding job which brings much happiness for a caring type of personality well suited to such a job.
